 Welcome

I like playing with wool. I like the way it feels, the way it smells. I like the way it speaks to me, of how sometimes I seem to have so little control over what it becomes. I am constantly amazed of how a two dimensional process can develop texture and depth. I love the excitement of getting a fleece and unrolling it, touching the fibres - planning out what I will do with it - as the wool tells me what it wants to be.

I am not an artist. At best I am a competent craftsperson. I make stuff that you can walk on, that you can wear, that you can wash and that you can use every day. Nothing fancy - nothing complicated.

Perhaps because in the deepest parts of me there remains vestiges of needing to work/produce - I am happiest when I go to bed knowing that I have made something that day. I know it is going to be a great day when I wake up in the morning with wool to play with, with things to make.

I never intended to be a seller of goods. But a few years ago I realized that I needed find something to do with what I had made. Much to my surprise I like selling - I like meeting people and talking about the craft of making things with wool. I like having little kids touch the soft wool, I like hearing from people talking about their grandmother spinning and I especially like gentlemen coming up to me and examining the marvelous machine called a spinning wheel.  And there is no rush like selling something that I worked hard on to someone who likes it as much as I do.

This is my work - enjoy
